Feast of Tabernacles

From the time of the Exodus all the way through King David’s reign, God had allowed the manifestation of His glory to dwell among His people in the Ark of the Covenant. The Ark itself rested in a large tent called the “Tabernacle,” or the “Tent of Meeting,” or the “House of God.”

When God delivered the Feast of Tabernacles to Moses, it gave hints about a time 500 years in the future when a king would rule with peace and prosperity in the Promised Land, and God would “tabernacle” among His people. (The Bible actually uses the word “tabernacle” as a verb to describe God living among men!)
